Picking a Professional Gym

Bodybuilding Basics

Bodybuilding can be to some a daunting fitness regimen to undertake. Some get intimidated or inspired by the heavily muscled professionals in the field and some get discouraged thinking it would take years to achieve the muscularity they desire. That isn’t the case as long as one follows the basics of bodybuilding.

First of all we need to look at what bodybuilding does and what it takes to achieve the gains necessary. The sport and regimen do require great discipline and imagination. It challenges the mind and spirit as much as the body and many a professional bodybuilder will attest to this.

Basically, to grow muscle one must tear muscle tissue. The body responds to the torn tissue brought about by exercise and lifting weights by repairing the damaged tissue with more muscle tissue thus increasing strength and muscle size. In order to do this a strict change in diet that favors both specific intake of protein, carbohydrates, and vitamins and minerals must be adhered to. It is the only way to feed thee muscle what it needs to grow. One can lift weights all day, but if you don’t feed the muscle, like a garden it won’t grow.

It doesn't take long to make a change, just 6 to 8 weeks 3 days a week to see dramatic changes.

The first goal of bodybuilders is to gain bulk and mass.

To do this one uses heavy weights with low repetitions. So let’s say one is curling weights with both arms and the weight is not challenging, then muscle tissue will not be torn nor repaired and grow. One might do 8 repetitions per 3 sets and when those become easy to do, the weight is increased. It’s really that simple and is applied to all exercises.

This regimen is repeated until the desired mass is achieved. That’s when the second approach comes in that sculpts the muscle with that shredded look. To make the music lean and mean, lower weights are now used at higher reps. So if one did 8 reps on the bench press in 3 sets, then to get ‘cut’ one would do 12 reps in 4 sets with lower weights.

It doesn’t take long to make a change, just 6 to 8 weeks 3 days a week to see dramatic changes. Just keep one’s eye on the mountain top and in no time you’ll be the envy of people all over with a new fit and trim muscular you.
