Leisure Connection, the name behind Harpers Fitness, is launching a new concept in public access health club provision.
From May 2008 they will be rolling out, across their estate of 70+ centres, a brand new package aimed at supporting members to achieve their health and fitness goals. Known as the 'Harpers Experience' the package will not only provide members with the support they need to achieve their personal goals but it will also ensure continual professional development for Harpers Fitness staff.
Harpers members will have the opportunity to purchase the Harpers Experience for a cost of £20. For this they will receive five different personal sessions with a trainer at five different stages within the first eight weeks of their membership (or from the point of purchase). This includes a 45 minute induction, personal training session, full body health check, Movement analysis a follow up PT session and a session about how the member can maintain their programme going forward.
Kevin Yates, the Group Health & Fitness Brand Manager says: "The Harpers Experience focuses on the member achieving their 'sexyweight', which is the point when they feel good - more confident about their body. This is an exciting project for the Harpers team. The Harpers Experience allows us to offer a first class, private member health club experience within an affordable, public access environment. The Harpers Experience is unique to our clubs and we are confident that this roll out is going to be extremely successful."
Kevin continues: "2008 is going to be a fantastic year for our members but so too for our staff. To coincide with the launch of the Harpers Experience, Leisure Connection is introducing a new personal training programme, which will deliver significant advantages to the customer and trainer."
One size doesn't fit all in terms leisure provision and the same applies to personal trainers. Harpers has, therefore opted to run two different approaches to personal training, one employed section and a self employed section.
The approach will vary depending on the size and location of the centre and also the socio-economics of the community. The employed system based on level 1-4 PT within the business and trainers build up their fees per session as they complete training courses. The self employed section works on a 12 week scale until trainers are able to pay a full rental fee. Harpers Fitness offer support to trainers including marketing PT business training, uniforms, analysis testing equipment and general support to build their personal training business.
