Know Your Limits

Did you know that a 250ml glass of wine or a pint of beer can contain about the same number of calories as a sausage roll? Do you know how your drinking habits are affecting your health and fitness? This month Harpers is linking up with the Government’s Know Your Limits campaign to help you understand how much you are really drinking, and offer help to stay within your limits.

Why not visit one of our gyms today to find out more? Our staff can talk you through the units and calorie contents of different drinks, the NHS guidelines, the impact of alcohol on your performance, and the health risks of drinking too much.  You can also ask for a handy drink diary sheet which you can use to record how much you drink over a week – or you can get started right now with this interactive online drink calculator.

The NHS recommends that men should not regularly drink more than 3-4 units of alcohol daily and women should not regularly drink more than 2-3 units daily.  Units. They all add up.
