Batchwood Golf & Tennis Centre

 Batchwood Golf and Tennis Centre suffered in a fire during the early hours of Wednesday 10th August 2011 which has destroyed most of the building, bowls club and golf club. The cause of the fire is not yet known.

Batchwood Golf and Tennis Centre is operating from temporary accommodation (includes a reception, changing rooms, two blocks of toilets and a meeting room), we are located between the Night Club, 3rd Green and the rear driveway. Bookings can be made by contacting us on 01727 844250.

The golf course is in a good condition and bookings can be made during the centre opening times, we apologise that we can not take bookings for before 8am but green fees can be paid to the ranger out on the course (alternatively, if the ranger misses you please visit reception on completing your round).

The Batchwood Tennis Bubble (comprises of 3 outdoor courts fully covered by an Air Dome Bubble) re-opened on Monday 17th October 2011 is proving popular and has allowed a large number of the pre-fire courses and sessions to return to Batchwood.


Members of the Gym and Aerobics facilities are able to utilise these facilities and should contact the centres above for more information regarding classes and bookings or visit our website on www.leisureinstalbans.co.uk .

Users of the Batchwood squash courts are advised that we are not able to offer any alternative facilities within the St Albans Leisure Contract.  However, a list of local facilities that may be suitable to users can be found on the Timetables/Brochures tab.
