Lilleshall National Sports Centre was once home to the F.A. School of Excellence which helped nurture such talent as Michael Owen, Sol Campell and Jamie Carragher, to name but a few. It was also where the 1966 World Cup winning England Team trained just before their momentous victory. With such a prestigious background it is not hard to see why so many teams visit the site to utilise it's facilities.
On site there are 7 football pitches, 1 football/rugby pitch and 1 permanent rugby pitch all kept to an exceptional standard. Great care is taken to look after our training facilities and it is no wonder that teams from all over the country visit, whether it is just for a day's training on their way to a fixture or for a residential training camp. Recently we have welcomed Crystal Palace and Charlton Athletic, Walsall use the site on a regular basis as do AFC Telford.
Over the years we have also accommodated numerous teams from abroad such as Sheksna F.C. and Tokai University. All of Lilleshal's facilities are aimed at making sure visiting teams find their stay a worthwhile one.
At Lilleshall you will also find 2 World Class Floodlit Artifical Pitches, one for hockey and one for football and hockey, available to the local community, school/college and elite users. The pitches are currently under construction and opening later in the year.
