Jane Mannerings

Personal Trainer
About me:

Sport and fitness has always been an important part of my life, as a school girl I represented England in athletics and basketball, as an adult, tennis, rowing and more recently golf, have been my main hobbies.
I have always worked in the leisure and travel industry starting as cabin crew for British Airways, qualifying in the fitness industry in 1990 and then I decided to run away to sea and work for P&O Cruises as a Cruise Co-ordinator and Deputy Cruise Director!
After leaving the good life having consumed far too much alcohol and rich food whilst entertaining
guests on board I returned back to dry land. Heavier and very unfit I pursued a career in golf membership sales. This I found very unfulfilling and I decided that I wanted to regain a good level of fitness, a healthy lifestyle and inspire others to do the same once again...

Qualifications:

RSA Exercise to Music, Step Aerobics, Body Pump, Aqua Aerobics, Pre and Post Natal Fitness, and 50 plus exercise. Also BAWLA trained. REPs Certified

Experience:

I first qualified as a fitness instructor and personal trainer in 1990, working at Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre and the Royal Berkshire Club. I have had the pleasure of training several international footballers and regularly trained the team at Southampton Football Club.
I have had many personal training clients over the years including a Princess and like to specialise in
weight loss, toning and fitness for golf. Amongst others, I am currently training a “more mature” group with ages ranging from 74 – 94! Being slightly (only slightly!) older than the other Personal Trainers at Bisham I have personal experience of the difficulties of getting back into fitness and the problems one faces in trying to loose weight and keep that dreaded “middle age spread” under control. My passion for golf knows no bounds and I would like to be able to help all golfers, no matter what age, to improve their overall fitness, shoulder rotation, balance and core stability.

Hobbies:

My main hobby is golf. I am a member of Maidenhead Golf Club and my goal is to get my handicap into
single figures!
My other interest is travel and having worked for British Airways and also for P&O Cruises, I have been fortunate enough to travel the world extensively but still want to see more!
